Refund Policy

We want every DefamationLock® user to feel confident in their purchase. This Refund Policy explains when refunds are available, what is non-refundable, and how to request one. This Policy is part of the Terms of Service.

1. Reputation Protection Memberships (Division 1)

  • 7-Day New Member Guarantee. Request a full refund within 7 days of your first 6-month membership purchase if no professional response service, takedown action, or emergency response has been initiated on your behalf.
  • After 7 days. Memberships are non-refundable for the remainder of the prepaid 6-month term. You may cancel auto-renewal at any time per the Cancellation Policy.
  • Pro-rata refunds are not provided for unused months once monitoring, alerts, or human response work has begun.

2. NDA ON DEMAND™

  • Pay-per-send NDAs (SecureSign™ single-document) are non-refundable once the document has been sent or signed, because vault storage, DLOCK Code™ minting, and audit-trail services are rendered immediately.
  • Unused send credits on subscription plans may be refunded within 14 days of purchase if no sends have been initiated.
  • Vault retention fees already consumed are non-refundable.

3. Professional Services Marketplace (Division 2)

  • Paid Assessments ($49–$499). Refundable within 24 hours of purchase if no Provider has been assigned and no report has been delivered.
  • Provider engagements. Refund eligibility for paid work performed by an independent Provider is governed by that Provider's own engagement terms. DLOCK may mediate disputes but does not guarantee refunds for third-party services.
  • Lead credits purchased by Providers are non-refundable once redeemed against a routed lead. Unused credits may be refunded within 30 days of purchase upon written request.
  • Provider memberships are non-refundable after the first 7 days; cancel auto-renewal anytime.

4. Emergency / One-Time Services

Emergency response packages ($199–$999) are non-refundable once work has commenced, because resources are reserved and acted upon immediately. If we are unable to begin the engagement within the SLA window stated at checkout, you may request a full refund.

5. DLOCK Code™ & Trust Seal

Annual DLOCK Code™ Trust Seal subscriptions ($199–$299) are refundable within 7 days of purchase if the public seal has not been issued. After issuance, the fee covers verification infrastructure for the full annual term and is non-refundable.

6. Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. Filing a chargeback without first attempting resolution may result in suspension of your account and forfeiture of vault access until the dispute is resolved.

7. How to Request a Refund

  1. Open the Request Center and choose Refund — it routes to support@defamationlock.com automatically.
  2. Include your DLOCK Code™, order ID, and a brief reason for the request.
  3. We will respond within 3 business days and process approved refunds to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

8. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this Policy limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law (including, where applicable, EU/UK distance-selling rights). Where a stronger right applies, that right controls.
